Speech Language Job Duties

Work closely with patients to evaluate, diagnose, and treat a variety of cognitive, communication, and swallowing disorders.
Creating and carrying out individualized treatment plans addressing specific functional needs
Teaching patients how to make sounds while improving their voices and maintaining fluency.
Helping individuals improve sentence structure and vocabulary used in written and oral language.
Working with adults and children in developing and strengthening muscles used to swallow.
Counseling individuals and families on ways to cope with cognitive, swallowing and communication disorders.

Speech Language Pathologist Education and Experience

Graduate of an approved program in Speech/Language Pathology culminating in the receipt of a Master's or Doctoral Degree.
Valid license in Speech Language Pathology services at the clinical level in the state of Delaware.
Certification by the American Speech/Language/Hearing Association.
One to two years experience in the areas of Adult Neurological communicative disorders with emphasis in Aphasiology and Dysphagia Rehabilitation preferred.
Basic Life Support CPR Certification

Job Types: Pay per visit with transition to fulltime (30+ hours/week) as volume increases.

Schedule: Monday to Friday

Speech Language Pathologist Certification/Licensure:

Speech and Language Pathology License in Delaware (Required)
CPR Certification (Preferred)

Work Location: In clinic, in a patient's home, and/or telehealth
